This month will show a drop off in passive earnings since many passive earning streams report quarterly and the last quarter results were published for the year ending December, 2017.

Of course, the passive income category well outperformed the GPT category in terms of per-hour earnigns – how could it be any other way? However, in terms of real dollars, GPT came out well ahead of the passive category.

With regard to the GPT category, UserTesting was the highest earning income stream – both in terms of real dollars and per-hour earnings.

Though not all passive income sources reported this month (since some report on a quarterly schedule).

The second highest, courier services, brought in a total of $220.02 (including bonuses) or about 78% of what was earned using UserTesting. Moreover, less than half the time was spent on UserTesting than on courier servicing.

Hourly Rates Comparisons

While no contributor to Easy Beer Money earns money through online surveys, as a public service we do monitor several of survey providers including Vindale, Swagbucks, TellWut and Pollbuzzer. According to their published estimates on the time it would take to complete the surveys, the hourly income rate from surveys during January 2018 would have been $4.38.

Hourly Rates By Type

  • GPT: $42.90
  • Passive: $1346.77
  • Survey (inactive): $4.38

Per GPT source, UserTesting again showed itself to be preeminent with an individual hourly rate of $78.28. Field Agent came in second with an hourly rate of $29.98 (though this is only due to the fact that Steve did Field Agent missions while also performing his other driving jobs, otherwise the hourly rate would be very low).

The dramatic effect of free money was again shown by the hourly rate jump for courier servicing from the non-bonus to the bonus rate – $19.33 to $27.79.

Individual Hourly Rate

  • Courier Services: $19.33
  • Courier Services w/ Bonuses: $27.79

It should be noted that these earnings number are not net of taxes and other costs and fees.
