So recently I was on one of the forums I read daily and someone new to beer money asked if Swag Bucks is worth it.
YES. Swagbucks is totally worth it…but only if you do it right.
Here is my reply:
“Hey OP, I absolutely refuse to do anything that doesn’t make more than minimum wage where I live. I’m in San Francisco where minimum wage is $10.55 and hour, so it’s a pretty high bar for beer money activities, yet I still use Swagbucks. It’s worth it.
It’s worth it if you remain patient, and remember not to try to become a millionaire from it.
If you have an Android device, get the SBTV app. I switch my Android to WiFi so I don’t use my data plan. I just let it run. Occasionally I’ll have to intercede but not much. That’s a quick 50 or more SB’s a day. I’ve found that the Comedy channel is the fastest since the clips between ads are shortest. For some reason, the iPhone SBTV app is very similar to the one on the website…low earnings for a lot of time.
Then like the others here I do NOSO and the daily poll. I don’t even look at surveys (though I did fill out all the profile questionnaires), offers, games, tasks or any of that garbage.
Finally, I set SB as my homepage in Firefox. Now if I’m looking for something important I use the google search box, but if it’s just a dumb search I put it in the address bar and it goes through SB. I win every now and again.
Doing only this I make at least $5.00 in Amazon GC’s (the best value generally, but look for sales) every week doing very, very little.
I wouldn’t try to scam them, they’re hip to it and it’s dishonest.
Finally, try to get some referrals. Their referer system is crap – you only get matching points when your referral wins points on a search – but it’s something. If you can get a couple with little energy, go for it!
EDIT: I don’t have any referrals so I can’t speak to how effective they are at changing the bottom line.
